Shaikh, Maulana Dawood Seedat is a spiritual reformer, prolific speaker, counsellor and teacher based in Pietermaritzburg, KZN, South Africa. The Shaikh has been active in the work of deen for almost two decades.

 

He initiated his spiritual reformation with Hazratjee Ml. Maseehullah Khan. Upon his demise, he turned to Hazrat Ml. Yunus Patel (the khalifah of Hazrat Ml. Hakeem Akhtar) with whom he spent a long time, and went on to become one of his few khulafa (spiritual successors).

 

He studied in Darul Uloom Zakariyya, Darul Uloom Azaadville and Madrasah Taleemuddeen. His teachers include, but are not limited to, Hazrat Ml. Abdul Hamid Ishaq, Qari Ismail Essack, Mufti Ebrahim Salejee, and Ml. Mansur Al-Haq. May Allah have mercy upon them all and preserve their teachings, Aameen.

 

He joined Masjid-ut-Taqwa as an Imaam and Teacher from its inception, and has since managed its growth and daily activities. Furthermore, he delivers lectures weekly at this Masjid and occasionally as a guest speaker in many other Masaajid.
